About

An artist and filmmaker living in Topanga Canyon, California, Edet Belzberg is inspired by the natural world and influenced by the often unnoticed shapes which surround us. Exploring the relationship between color and form to movement and space, Edet views the formations in her work to be in perpetual motion, with a moment of their existence suspended in her oil paintings and wood forms.

An award-winning filmmaker, Edet’s documentaries have shown theatrically, at film festivals and on television worldwide. Her films have earned numerous honors including an Academy Award nomination, DuPont-Columbia University Award, and the Sundance Film Festival’s Jury Prize, among others. She has taught at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and she is a recipient of the MacArthur Foundation Fellowship.
